Box Score WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Sacred Heart University women's tennis team lost a hard-fought battle against Seton Hall, 5-2, on Sunday as the Pioneers rounded out their weekend at Army West Point. 
 
Sacred Heart splits the weekend and falls to 3-4 overall while Seton Hall picks up its first dual match victory of the season for a 1-1 record. 
 
The two teams battled to score in doubles play to kick off the day. Katsiaryna Starastsenka and Ciara O'Toole fell in first doubles, 3-6, while Olivia Kharkover and Aina Garriga came out victorious in third doubles, 6-3. With the score knotted, Vitalina Golod and Flavia Rambaldi forced a tiebreaker in second doubles but weren't able to outlast the Pirates and fell, 6-7(4).
 
The Pioneers grabbed two wins in singles action thanks to O'Toole and Golod. O'Toole took the first set with a convincing 6-2 score but fell, 0-6, as Aina Plana Ventosa forced a third set. The junior from Dublin, Ireland bounced back, 6-3, for the win in the second spot, while Golod won in straight sets in fourth singles. In fifth singles, Rambaldi refused to go down without a fight. The sophomore won the tiebreaker in the first set before falling in the second-set tiebreaker which forced a third set. Rambaldi was unable to close out the match as she fell, 4-10, in set three. 
 
The Red & White is back on the courts on Saturday, February 5 at Harvard at 1:30 p.m.
