LORETTO, Pa.- Saint Francis U pitching was just too much for the Sacred Heart University softball team as the Pioneers fell 7-0 to the Red Flash in the opening round of the NEC Tournament this afternoon.

Of Note 

• Saint Francis U pitcher Grace Vesco pitched her third no-hitter of the season leaving the Pioneers hitless for the first time this season.
• The Pioneers were able to put just two base runners on base in the game off a pair of walks by juniors Alyssa Gonzalez and Amy Petrovich.
• Saint Francis U garnered five of the seven runs in the first inning off a pair of home runs and a pair of RBI singles.
• A two-run home run in the bottom of the sixth inning would seal the win for the Red Flash.
• Senior Colleen Walsh settled down after the first inning allowing just two runs in the sixth inning. She finished the day going six innings allowing 11 hits and seven runs.

The Pioneers await the loser of the second NEC Tournament game between LIU and Central Connecticut State. The two losers will play at 1:00 p.m. tomorrow and the winner will face the loser of the game between SFU and the winner of today's second game.
