Box Score 2 FAIRFIELD, Conn.- How sweep it is as the Sacred Heart University softball team took two games from Merrimack this afternoon with 4-2 and 8-2 victories.

Of Note
- The Pioneers got hot early as senior Caroline Kruger launched her second home run of the season to put SHU ahead 2-0.
- Kruger would come clutch again in the bottom of the fifth with an RBI triple to left field scoring in Kylee Harvey to put SHU ahead 3-1.
- Junior Amy Petrovich sealed the game with an RBI double to center following the Kruger at-bat to put SHU ahead 4-1.
- Sophomore Olivia Vadas was dominant in the circle going 6.2 innings with allowing just two hits and striking out four.

Of Note
- The second game would be all Pioneers as after Merrimack took a 2-0 lead in the top of the third, the Pioneers answered back with two of their own off a Kylee Harvey double to left and an Amy Petrovich double to left as well to even the score at 2-2.
- Then the game broke wide open with a massive three-run home-run by junior Alyssa Gonzalez to put SHU ahead 5-2 heading into the sixth inning.
- SHU would tally three more runs all coming in the sixth inning with a two-RBI double by Amy Petrovich followed by a sac-fly to second base by Emily Carroll to give the Pioneers the 8-2 lead.
- Senior Colleen Walsh picked up her second win of the year going all seven innings allowing just two runs on six hits and striking out five.
