Box Score 2 EMMITSBURG, MD- The Sacred Heart University softball team was unable to take the series from Mount St. Mary's as the fell 6-4, and 10-9 this afternoon.

Score: SHU 4, MSM 6
Of Note
- SHU got on the board first off an RBI double to right field by junior Amy Petrovich to put the Pioneers ahead 1-0 in the top of the first.
- The Pioneers would take a 2-0 lead heading into the bottom of the third before Mount answered back with four runs to take a 4-2 lead heading into the fourth inning.
- After Mount tallied two more runs in the bottom of the fifth, SHU would attempt a comeback in the seventh inning courtesy of a pair of home-runs by first-year Emily Carroll and junior Alyssa Gonzalez to result in the 6-4 defeat.

Of Note
- The Pioneers would again get on the board first with an RBI single by senor Caroline Kruger through the left side scoring in fellow senior Kylee Harvey to put SHU ahead 1-0 in the third inning.
- Following the Kruger single, Petrovich would follow an single to third base scoring in Kruger to put SHU ahead 2-0.
- After Mount tightend the SHU lead to 2-1 in the bottom of the inning, the Mountaineers struck in the bottom of the fourth with seven runs coming off five hits including an two RBI double to give Mount a 8-2 lead.
- SHU attempted a comeback with four runs in the top of the fifth including a two-run home run by Gonzalez to narrow the Mount lead to 8-6.
- In the top of the sixth, SHU was able to tie the game up with a two RBI single by Myah Eldred to make the score knotted at 8-8.
- But a two-run home run by Mount in the bottom of the inning put the game out of reach as SHU would fall 10-9.
