Box Score 2 FAIRFIELD, Conn.- The Sacred Heart University softball team dropped a pair of games to Fairleigh Dickinson this afternoon by final scores of 11-6 and 5-4.

Game 1
Score: FDU 11, SHU 6
Of Note
- Both sides jumped on the board early as FDU scored the opening run in the top of the first with an RBI double by Cassidy Triska to put the Knights ahead 1-0.
- SHU answered right back as junior Alyssa Gonzalez launched her eighth home run of the season scoring in junior Amy Petrovich to give SHU the 2-1 lead heading into the top of the second.
- But in the third inning, FDU would tack on eight runs to take a commanding 9-2 lead.
- The Pioneers attempted a comeback with three home runs by first-year Emily Carroll, Alyssa Gonzalez her second of the game, and first-year Grace Saad's home run which came in the top of the sixth and her first career home run to result in the eventual 11-6 loss.
- Gonzalez went a solid 3-3 in the game with three RBI's in the game one loss.

Score: FDU 5, SHU 4
Of Note
- Game two would be a nail-bitter as after the Knights took a 2-0 lead heading into the bottom of the third inning, the Pioneers would take the lead back off a three-run home run by junior Amy Petrovich to give SHU a 4-2 lead.
- A wild pitch previously scored in the pinch-runner Sara Fagan from third to give SHU its first run of the game.
- After FDU cut the SHU lead to 4-3 in the fourth inning, the game looked like it was in the Pioneers hands but in the top of the seventh with two outs, a rocket double down the third baseline by Triska scored in two runs to give the Knights the 5-4 lead and victory.
