Box Score 2 FAIRFIELD, Conn.- The Sacred Heart University softball team dropped a pair of games at home this afternoon to Merrimack 5-0, and 3-1.

Game 1
Score: Merrimack 5, SHU 0
Of Note
- The Pioneers were held to just three hits in the game in which two came off the bat of first-year Emily Carroll.
- An RBI triple by Merrimack in the top of the third inning jumped the Warriors to a 3-0 lead as it scored in two runs.
- Merrimack would score two more including one run in the top of the seventh to result in the 5-0 loss.

Score: Merrimack 3, SHU 1
Of Note
- Game two would be tighter as the Pioneers would jump on the board first with an RBI double to right-center by junior Amy Petrovich in the bottom of the third to put SHU ahead 1-0.
- But Merrimack answered right back with three runs in the top of the fourth to take a 3-1 lead and eventual victory.
- First-year Jenna Pfister gave the Pioneers three strong innings in relief as she allowed just one hit with three strikeouts in game two.
