- On a glorious senior day, four senior Pioneers tallied goals in the win.
- First-year John Jaworski tallied his first career point with an assist.
- Four goals were scored in the opening period first Holy Cross 3:03 into the period off the stick of Jake Pappalardo to put the Crusaders ahead 1-0.
- Then a pair of goals by Marcel Godbout and Kevin Lombardi put the Pioneers ahead 2-1 before a final minute goal by Holy Cross's Michael Kane evened the score at 2-2 17:12 into the period.
- In the second both sides notched goals first by senior Marc Johnstone 5:08 into the period off feeds from Marcel Godbout and Austin Magera to take a 3-2 lead.
- Then 10 minutes later Holy Cross evened the score again off a goal by Bobby Young 15:13 into the period.
- But the Pioneers prevailed in the final period as at 14:34 into the third, junior Nick Boyagian would score his first goal of the year off a pair of assists by Evan Wisocky and John Jaworski to put the Pioneers ahead 4-3.
- An empty net goal in the closing seconds sealed the 5-3 victory for the Pioneers.
