BRIDGEPORT, Conn.- Victory has returned to Bridgeport as the Sacred Heart University men's ice hockey team defeated Holy Cross by a final score of 2-1 tonight. With the win the Pioneers pick up a crucial three points in the AHA standings as the Pioneers look to do the same tomorrow afternoon at 4:05 p.m.

• After a scoreless opening period, Holy Cross would get on the board first with a goal by Matt Slick 5:24 into the second period.
• A little over a minute later senior captain Marc Johnstone nailed his fifth goal of the year and third straight goal of the season off a pair of feeds by sophomores Kevin Lombardi and Patrick Dawson to even the score at 1-1.
• Then close to the midway point of the period junior Emil Ohrvall cashed in his first goal of the season 9:16 into the period off a pair of assists by sophomore Braeden Tuck and junior Austin Magera to give the Pioneers the 2-1 lead.
• Sophomore goalie Luke Lush picked up his first victory of the season making 21 saves and allowing just one goal.
