Men's Ice Hockey Earns Two Points Over Mercyhurst

Ryan Steele scored the shootout game-winner

ERIE, Pa.- The Sacred Heart University men's ice hockey team skated to a 3-3 tie but earned the extra point after winning the shootout over Mercyhurst.

"I was really proud of our group tonight in terms of how they handled the momentum swings within our game" stated head coach C.J. Marottolo. Our guys battled hard until the end and earned two points against a dynamic Mercyhurst team."

Marottolo added, "we were able to gain some momentum late and score the tying goal after a big penalty kill. I thought both goalies played really well and we were fortunate to get one in the shootout and hold them off the board."
