ERIE, Pa.- The Sacred Heart University men's ice hockey team skated to a 3-3 tie but earned the extra point after winning the 11 round shootout over Mercyhurst for the second day in a row on Saturday afternoon.

- A pair of Pioneers scored their first goals in the Red & White as Neil Shea and Troy Conzo scored goals featuring two by Shea on the day.
- Graduate student Rourke Russell tallied two points with two assists on the day.
- The Pioneers outshot the Lakers 44-23 on the day while going 1-5 on the power-play.
- Goals flied back and forth all game as SHU tallied two in the first coming from Conzo (7:36) and Shea (19:23) while Mercyhurst answered in the second period even the score up at 2-2 off the stick of Marko Riefenberger at 9:53 into the period.
- Shea's second goal of the day was clutch coming in the third period just 1:37 into the third with a pair of assists coming from Rourke Russell and Braeden Tuck.
- Neither team scored in the over-time period sending the game into a dynamic shootout where eventually junior Kevin Lombardi tallied the extra point for the Pioneers with his goal.
