NEW BRITAIN, Conn. – The Sacred Heart University women's soccer team fell, 2-0, at Central Connecticut State on Sunday night.
The Pioneers move to 2-2 against NEC opponents and 4-5-1 overall, while the Blue Devils improve to 3-1 in the NEC and 6-3 overall.
Central Connecticut capitalized on an opportunity in the 13
th minute to take the quick lead. The Blue Devils grew their lead in the second half at the 58-minute mark when Sydnie Dorman fired a shot that ricocheted off a SHU defender.
Sacred Heart was outshot, 14-1, as
Grace O'Hara attempted the lone shot for the Red & White in the second half.
Despite the shot differential, the Pioneers led in corners, 4-3.
The Pioneers return home on October 7 when they welcome Fairleigh Dickinson at 3 p.m. for the first of a two-game stretch.
