- The third period was all SHU as senior Austin Magera earned his second straight multi-point game as he scored a clutch goal coming 12:59 off a feed by Dante Fantauzzi.
- With just 13 seconds left in the period, senior Ryan Steele fired a shot that was dumped in by Dakota Raabe to give the Pioneers the 3-2 victory and his first goal of the season.
- This is the second straight time the Pioneers have defeated the Terriers as the last time was on November 26, 2019 when SHU won 4-0.
- Junior Braeden Tuck scored his third goal in two games with one in the second period to even the score up at 1-1.
- Late in the second period, the Terriers too the lead off a goal by Robert Mastrosimone for a 2-1 edge.
- Justin Robbins was clutch in net making a career-high 23 saves and earning his first career victory.
