NEW HAVEN, Conn.- The Sacred Heart University Women's tennis team defeated Wagner tonight by a final score of 5-2. The Pioneers return to action tomorrow night as they face off with Northeast Conference foe Saint Francis (Pa.). Matches begin at 6:00 p.m.

The Pioneers would pick up four wins in singles play as senior Olivia Podsiebierski would get the night started as she defeated Vedika Anand 6-3, 6-3. Then sophomore Kiera Tobia would handle her match against Samantha Lugtu as she won 7-5, 2-6, 10-4. Redshirt senior Sabrina Navarro would defeat Emma Reeves 6-1, 6-2 while junior Adrianne Alfonso would pick up her third straight singles win defeating Melanie Post 6-0, 6-0. 

In doubles play, the combo of junior Brianne Lauria and sophomore Lauren Santarsiero would defeat Vedika Anand and Rina Baynes 7-5. Podsiebierski and Navarro would pick up a win against Fidan Khalizade and Emma Reeves 6-0 while Kiera Tobia and Laura Crivei would pick up the doubles sweep as they defeated Samantha Lugtu and Diana Pinzariu 6-2.
