WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J.- The Sacred Heart University Women's Tennis team picked up its second win of the season this afternoon as the Pioneers defeated Monmouth by a final score of 6-1. The Pioneers fall season has now concluded as SHU's spring season begins on January 19 when the Pioneers face Columbia. Matches begin at 4:00 p.m.

The Pioneers took five victories in singles play with four Pioneers winning in straight sets as senior Brianne Lauria defeated Emily Manzo 6-1, 6-2, junior Kiera Tobia defeated Chinonye Gabriel 6-1, 6-3, fellow junior Laura Crivei defeated Sydney Denardo 6-1, 6-4 and senior Maggie Glynn swept Caroline Mattise 6-2, 6-2. 

In doubles, SHU picked up two victories as the duo of juniors Lauren Santarsiero and Laura Crivei defeated Gabriel and Denardo 6-4 while Tobia and Glynn defeated Manzo and Mattise 6-3 to pick up the 6-1 victory.
