The Sacred Heart University women's tennis team fell 4-2 to fifth-seeded Fairleigh Dickinson University in the quarterfinals of the NEC Tournament. The match was played at the Mercer County Tennis Center in West Windsor, N.J.
The Pioneers earned the doubles point with a 6-2 win at number-one doubles from Brianne Lauria and Olivia Podsiebierski. Keira Tobia and Sabrina Navarro were leading 4-3 at number-two doubles, but the Pionners earned the point with a default win at number-three doubles.
The loss dropped the Pioneers to 9-13 and ends the 2017-18 campaign.
