Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

Sacred Heart softball hit the east coast, and played a pair of games, finishing 0-2 in two close matches. The Pioneers were led by Victoria D'Addario who finished the day 2 for 6 at the plate. The Pioneers take on St. Mary's, and Cal Poly against tomorrow.

St. Mary's (Cal) 2      Sacred Heart 1

  • The Pioneers found themselves in a dog fight in their opening game, as they were first to get on the board in the second inning after a Andrea Sidor single up the middle would bring in D'Addario to put SHU up 1-0
  • Pitcher Jamie Carlson held St. Mary's scoreless in the first 5 innings, but wouldn't be able to hold off the Gaels as they would pick up two runs in the 5th
  • The Pioneers wouldn't be able to answer as they fell 2-1, with D'Addario going 2-3 at the plate

Cal Poly 2       Sacred Heart 0

  • The Pioneers were in trouble early as they gave up a run in the opening inning, after a fielders choice would bring in an unearned run
  • The Pioneers struggled at the plate only picking up one hit in the game, that came from Lauren Delgadillo in the top of the third, but SHU couldn't put anything together
  • Cal Poly would bring in another unearned run after a field error from SHU to get a 2-0 lead and take the game.
