Box Score 2 The Sacred Heart Softball team started their home slate of games finishing 2-0, as they took down the Sea Wolves of Stony Brook in a double header. The Pioneers won off a walk off two run home run, from Victoria D'Addario in the bottom of the seventh. After a three run inning in the second game the Pioneers held on to take the sweep, 3-1. SHU is back at home this Saturday, as they take on Maine in a double header, the first game scheduled to start at 11:00am.
Sacred Heart 2 Stony Brook 0 (Game 1)
- Jamie Carlson picked up her fifth win of the season in the opening game, giving up one lone hit. Carlson struck out a season high 12 batters in the performance
- The Pioneers picked up three hits in the game, coming from Fallon Bevino, D'Addario, and Andrea Sidor
- Each team held each other scoreless till D'Addario smoked a walk-off two run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning to give SHU the 2-0 win
Sacred Heart 3 Stony Brook 1 (Game 2)
- Kristen McCann picked up the win on the mound for the Pioneers as she struck out a season high nine batters. McCann gave up five hits on the day, and didn't allow any earned runs in the 3-1 win
- Leading SHU at the plate was Hailey Derosiers who went 2-3 in game two.
- Lauren Delgadillo, Bevino, and D'Addario all picked up an RBI on the day, as all three Pioneer runs were earned.
- The Pioneers busted things open in the third inning as they would pick up all three of their runs
