Box Score TEANECK, N.J.—The Sacred Heart women's soccer team played Fairleigh Dickinson to a 0-0 double overtime draw on Friday night. The Pioneers (5-4-4, 2-0-1 NEC) and the Knights (4-9-1, 2-0-1 NEC) remain tied in the Northeast Conference women's soccer standings with seven points.
An even matchup between both teams, Fairleigh Dickinson barely outshot the Pioneers 13 to 10. Sophomore Nicole Sambuco (Hauppauge, N.Y.) knocked down the six shots she faced. Sambuco and the Pioneers defense have not allowed a goal in five straight games. Sambuco's seven shutouts on the year leads the Northeast Conference. Sophomore Lindsay Corallo (Jackson, N.J.) led the Pioneers with three shots. Sacred Heart had one final opportunity with 30 seconds remaining in the second overtime but the Knights played out the corner kick attempt.
Sacred Heart travels to Central Connecticut on Sunday October 16. Kickoff is set for 6:00pm.
