Carlson Shuts Out Quinnipiac in 1-0 Win

Box Score

HAMDEN, CONN. (April 21, 2015)—Jamie Carlson held the Quinnipiac Bobcats scoreless on Tuesday allowing the Sacred Heart softball team to claim a 1-0 victory. The sophomore pitcher allowed just three hits while racking up 10 strikeouts as the Pioneers move to 12-24 on the season.

A Quinnipiac error in the top of the second made all the difference. Rookie Hannah Ford started a two-out rally beating out an infield single before Alyssa Pitre's single to right centerfield bumped her into scoring position. Jenn Robillard laid down a bunt hoping to move the runners over, and she did as the Bobcats' second basement made an error allowing Ford to speed around third base and cross home for the game's only run.

SHU returns home to Pioneer Park on Wednesday to host Manhattan in their annual Breast Cancer Awareness Day doubleheader.
