WEST POINT, N.Y. – Paige Olson earned Sacred Heart its lone point in its spring-opening, 6-1, loss at Army on Friday night. The loss for the Pioneers drops them to 1-2 after an even 1-1 record in fall play.
The win for Olson, at first singles, was a three setter, in which she won the tiebreak 10-6. Olson had to recover from dropping the second set, 6-2, to come back and win the tiebreaker. She took the first set, 7-5. Lindsey Post was on the other side of a three setter, falling in the final set of her second singles matchup, 7-5. She forced the decisive set after losing the opener, 6-2.
Nicole Rydzewski teamed with Claudia Ruiz to come closest to earning SHU a win in doubles play. The two fell in a close match to their opponent at third doubles, 7-5.
The Pioneers will be back in West Point tomorrow, playing a neutral match with Binghamton beginning at 3 pm.
