Pioneers Play FDU to 0-0 Draw on Senior Day

FAIRFIELD, Conn - The Sacred Heart Pioneers played a scoreless 110 minutes with the Fairleigh Dickinson Knights Sunday afternoon on Senior Day. Sacred Heart is now 5-10-1 this season and 2-3-1 in the Northeast Conference.

Senior goalkeeper Sydney Judkins (South Park, PA) made six saves to record her second shutout of the season. It is the Pioneers eighth game this season without scoring a goal.

The Pioneers controlled the action for most of the game, outshooting FDU 15-8. Sacred Heart's big chance came just two and a half minutes into the second half when sophomore forward Dana Cosmedy (Monroe, CT) turned and nailed a shot off the cross-bar from about 25 yards out. Cosmedy and Marissa Christy (Massapequa, NY) both recorded four shots to lead the Pioneers.

FDU goalkeeper Sage DoVale made four saves in her seventh shutout this season.

Sacred Heart finishes the season on the road, starting Friday afternoon when they head to first place Saint Francis for a clash with the Flash at 3:00 pm.

Notes: Seniors Rebecca Senetcen (Ansonia, CT) and Alyssa Brandofino (East Northport, NY) we both honored in a pre-game ceremony. Brandofino is Sacred Heart's all-time assists leader with 15.
