WATERTOWN, MA (March 4, 2011) -  After forcing a decisive game three with Saturday's 4-2 win, the Sacred Heart men's ice hockey team's season came to an end Sunday night at the hands of the Bentley Falcons, losing 5-0 at Ryan Skating Arena.  The Falcons win the series 2-1 and advance on in the Atlantic Hockey Playoffs.  The Pioneers end the season at 6-28-3 overall.

Bentley (15-14-8) netminder Brandan Komm made 24 saves in posting the shutout win.  The Falcons outshot the Pioneers 36-24 and 30-16 over the first two periods.  Five different Falcons found the back of the net with Brett Switzer and Alex Kubiak leading the way with a goal and an assist apiece.

The two teams looked headed for a scoreless first period before Bentley's Brett Gensler lit the lamp with just 48 seconds to play with Steve Weinstein and Switzer assisting for a 1-0 lead.  The Falcons threw 16 shots on goal in the second period and beat Pioneer goaltender Andrew Bodnarchuk (Saskatoon, SK) midway through the period for a second time.

Kubiak found the back of the net unassisted at 9:20 and then set-up teammate Dan Koudys for a goal at the 18:02 mark for a commanding 3-0 lead heading into the second intermission.  Bentley left no doubt in the third period, scoring twice in the span of 1:02.

Jared Rickord and Switzer went back-to-back and the Falcons skated home to a game three win and trip to the AHA Quarterfinals at RIT.
