Box Score (Loretto, PA) – Lindsay Kasten (Fair Haven,
NJ) scored her team-leading sixth goal of the year, but
the St. Francis (PA) Red Flash used three second-half goals to beat
the Sacred Heart Pioneer field hockey team 3-1 Sunday
afternoon.
Kasten scored off a penalty corner at the 26:10 mark,
with Chelsea Carslon (Peterborough, NH) earning the
assist. Carlson generated the majority of SHU's offensive
opportunities throughout the game, leading the Pioneers with three
of the team's six shots on goal.
The Red Flash tied the game 47:48 mark on an unassisted goal by
Jocelyn Scillia, then took the lead for good about a
minute-and-a-half later on an unassisted goal by Claire Wilkie at
the 49:17 mark. Tia Dudukovich added an insurance goal at the
62:15 mark, with the assist going to Julie Bacseski.
Kim Stow
(Norwalk, CT) made nine saves for the Pioneers, upping her
Northeast Conference saves total to 148. Sacred Heart is next
in action Friday, Oct. 29 at 3:30 when the Pioneers travel to
Sienna.
