Volleyball Drops Two at Yale Invitational

NEW HAVEN, CT - The Sacred Heart women's volleyball team closed out its matches in the Yale Invitational today, falling to the host team and then the University of Rhode Island by 3-0 scores. Yale won their own tournament, going 3-0, edging URI that finished 2-1.

Freshman Mydori Saipale (Oxnard, CA) was named to the All-Invitational Team after finishing the three matches with 29 kills and 28 digs.

Saipale led the Pioneers with nine kills in the loss to Yale, while senior Christine Duffy (Massapequa, NY) led the team with 11 digs.

Saipale again led the team with seven kills against URI, but junior Kendra Sloan (Bristow, VA) also had a good match with six kills and four digs. Junior Lynne Principio (Ardsley, NY) led SHU with nine digs in the match.
