Final Stats

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (April 3, 2007) - The Sacred Heart Pioneers swept all six singles matches and all three doubles matches to post a 7-0 Northeast Conference win at Wagner College Tuesday afternoon. The Pioneers improve to 8-6 and 3-1 in the NEC this season.

In singles, junior Pam Pillo (Shelton, CT) beat Brittany Frazza 6-2 and 6-3 at #1. Freshman Julianne Kasinow (Wall, NJ) picked up a 6-2, 6-1 win over Aarti Mahtani at #2 and sophomore Nicole Betz (Long Beach, NY) won 6-0, 6-0 over Marie Crane at #3.

Junior Jessica Schnell (Schenectady, NY) won her #4 match over Emily Boyd, 6-1 and 6-0 and freshman Ashley Amalfe (Clark, NJ) closed out singles action with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Valerie Lecureux at #5. Mandy Finkelstein (Portland, CT) won by default at #6.

In doubles, Schnell and Finkelstein beat Frazza and Crane at #1, 8-5. The team of Amalfe and junior Britany Price (Meriden, CT) win at #2, 8-2, over Lecureux and Mahtani.
