Boston, MA - Fueled by a pair of goals from three different Terriers, the Boston University women's ice hockey team put up a dominating effort to down Sacred Heart, 7-2, at Walter Brown Arena on Sunday afternoon. The Terriers improved to 9-8-3 overall and 4-5-2 in the league after also beating Hockey East powerhouse Providence yesterday, while the independent Pioneers fell to 4-8-2 on the season.

BU's second line put up impressive numbers with six goals and six assists on the day. Freshman Erin Seman (Ramsey, Minn.), sophomore Stephanie Armstrong (Stoneham, Mass.) and freshman Laurel Koller (St. Paul, Minn.) each had a pair of goals. The Terriers wasted no time getting on the scoreboard as Hendry set the tone early with a goal at 00:39 seconds of the first period. Skating down the right side boards, Hendry blasted a shot that hit the inside crossbar and that bounced right out of the net. Assisting on the play were freshman Gina Kearns (Norwood, Pa.) and freshman Nicki Wiart (Queensbury, N.Y.).

Koller tallied her first goal of the day at 9:03 of the first period when she knocked in a rebound off a shot by Seman. Also assisting on the play was Armstrong.

The Pioneers made quick work of their second power play of the day as Katelin McLaughlin (Hingham,MA) scored thirty eight seconds after freshman Emily Schwarz (Andover, Mass.) was called for checking. Assisting on the play were Gina Arnone (Bridgewater, NJ) and Michelle Panella (Marlboro, NJ).

Seman would give the Terriers a 3-1 advantage at 18:57 of the first period on a power-play goal. Seman took a pass from Hendry behind the net and ripped a shot past Sacred Heart goaltender Stephanie Boulay (Anchorage, AK) from the bottom of the face off circle. Also assisting on the play was Koller.

The Pioneers' Sarah Turbert (Greenwich, CT) made it 3-2 at 3:47 of the second period when she buried a rebound off a shot by Sarah Hickman (Amherst, MA)

Armstrong scored her first goal of the game, a power-play goal, at 19:01 of the second period when she buried a pass from Kearns. Kearns worked the puck behind the net and fed a perfect feed to Armstrong at the top of the crease. Wiart also assisted on the play.

The Terriers made it 5-2 when Armstrong scored her second of the game at 4:12 of the third period. Seman controlled the puck down low, setting up Armstrong for another feed at the side of the crease.

BU made it 6-2 when Seman sniped the top corner at 13:07 of the third period. Schwarz lifted a perfect pass to Seman at the Pioneer blue where she carried in looking for Koller who was streaking to the net. Both Pioneer defensemen picked up Koller, giving Seman a wide open shot.

Seman made a bid for the hat trick at 17:45 when she took a pass from Armstrong and put a shot on net from the top of the crease. Boulay appeared to have it covered, but the puck slipped under the pads and stopped right on the goal line. Koller reached her stick in from the side of the net and poked it in for her second goal of the day.

Freshman Karilyn Pilch (Salem, N.H.) made 18 saves to earn her second win of the season.
