ERIE, PA (February 15, 2003) - The Sacred Heart men's ice hockey team was defeated by Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference opponent Mercyhurst College, 1-0. Senior goalie Eddy Ferhi (Charenton, France) held the Lakers to just one goal, scored in overtime, making 26 saves.

Despite putting 38 shots on goal, the Pioneers were shut out by Laker goalie Andy Franck, in what was a goaltending duel. After almost 62 minutes of play Laker Dave Borrelli ended the teams' scoring drought from David Wrigley and Adam Rivers to give Mercyhurst the victory over the Pioneers.

The Pioneers return to action Friday, February 21st, as they travel to Oxford, OH to face the RedHawks of Miami University to close out their out-of-conference schedule for a game at 7:35 pm.
