Final Stats
MILFORD, CT (November 15, 2003) - The Sacred Heart University
men's Ice Hockey team improved to 2-6-0 on the season and 2-3-0 in
Atlantic Hockey contests with a 5-1 win over Army. Five different
players scored for the Pioneers in the win.
The Pioneers took the lead in the closing minutes of the first
period with two quick goals from Mike Reagan and Peter
Giatrelis, who scored just :17 apart, to give the Pioneers a
2-0 lead. The Pioneers never looked back as they easily defeated
Army.
Andrew
Billinghurst made it a 3-0 game 3:28 into the second period
with his second goal of the season. Pierre-Luc
O'Brien followed that with his team leading fifth goal of the
season at 16:40, giving the Pioneers a 4-0 lead after two
periods.
Sacred Heart scored their fifth goal of the game at 12:21 of the
third period when Peter Ferraro
scored his second goal of the season.
Pioneers goaltender Kevin LaPointe had
the shut out until Chris Mighliaro put the Black Knights on the
board with 1:11 remaining in the game.
LaPointe made 23 saves in recording his second straight win
while Trye Kettwick and Bill Moss combined for 25 saves. Kettwick
took the loss for Army.
The Pioneers will be back in action on November 21 when the host
Bentley at 7:00 PM at the Milford Ice Pavilion.
