MILFORD, CT (January 14, 2003) - The Sacred Heart men's ice hockey team defeated Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference opponent Holy Cross, 3-1. Junior Mike Reagan (Flin Flon, MB) scored the game-winner at 3:08 in the third period.

The Pioneers took a 1-0 lead heading into the second period on a goal by freshman Rocco Molinaro (Dearborn, MI), assisted by sophomore Brad McFaul (Calgary, AB) and Reagan at 14:59. The second period remained scoreless.

Reagan's tally was assisted by freshman Peter Giatrelis (Hamden, CT) and senior Konn Hawkes (Watrous, SK). Holy Cross netted their lone goal at 17:43 in the third from Tim Coskren. Junior Marc-Andre Fournier (St. Nicholas, QUE) scored an empty net goal to close out the scoring at 19:40.

Senior goaltender Eddy Ferhi (Charenton, France) earned the win, making 26 saves. Holy Cross goaltender Tony Quesada made 27 saves.

The Pioneers return to action Friday, January 17, as they play host to cross-town rival Fairfield University for a MAAC match-up at 7:00 pm.
