Ralph King

Ralph King, a native of Medina, Ohio, rejoined the Sacred Heart University Strength & Conditioning staff in Summer 2025 as Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach. He currently works with baseball, women’s rugby, swimming & diving, and men’s wrestling, while also assisting with the Pioneers football program.

Previously, King spent time at SHU in the Spring semester of 2023 as a professional intern strength & conditioning coach. During that time, he led training for men’s & women’s track & field and assisted with football.

King earned his bachelor’s degree in Strength & Conditioning from the University of Findlay in 2022, where he played offensive line for the Oilers football team. In 2021, he helped lead Findlay to a Great Midwest Athletic Conference championship. He went on to complete his Master of Education at Findlay while continuing to gain hands-on coaching experience.

From Summer 2021 through Winter 2022, King interned with Findlay’s strength & conditioning department assisting with 16 of their varsity athletic teams. In Summer 2022, he expanded his experience through a football strength & conditioning internship at Kent State University.

After his first stint at SHU, King moved on to Saint Ignatius High School in Cleveland, Ohio, where he progressed from Assistant Strength Coach to Assistant Director of Strength & Conditioning from Summer 2023 through Summer 2025. There, he led performance training for multiple varsity sports—including baseball, crew, football, basketball, soccer, track & field—while also overseeing the integration of GPS and force plate technologies and managing intern development.

King holds certifications as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), USA Weightlifting Level 1 Coach (USAW), Functional Range Conditioning mobility specialist (FRCms), he also holds CPR/AED and First Aid certifications.
