Megan Balbo will be entering her 3rd season as Assistant coach with the Swimming & Diving Program. Coach Megan serves all aspects of our program from recruiting to practices and planning. Â
In her 2 seasons, the Pioneers have set over 29 program records, and 4 pool records in the area. She has worked with all the training groups and has been a part of the last 2 recruiting classes here at SHU. Coach Megan has been an interictal role in the organization of practice groups. In the past 2 seasons, we have been able to take our swimmers to the national level such as the CSCAA Open Water Championships in Miami FL and the CSCAA National Invitational Championships in Ocala FL. Â

Balbo swam distance freestyle for Denison University where she contributed to the team's national recognition. Balbo graduated from Denison University in 2022 with a degree in Health and Exercise Sports Studies and a Minor in Psychology. During her time at Denison, she was also an Athletic Training Room/First Aid Assistant and was a member of the Diversity and Inclusion Group.Â
Balbo earned Division III NCAA All-American recognition in the 500-yard freestyle in 2020. She also was a member of Denison's NCAC Conference Championship team the same year. Â
In 2020 and 2021, Balbo served as a journalism intern for the Swimming World Magazine. More recently, Balbo has been on the coaching staff for Bulldog Swimming in New Haven, CT, and working for Prolete Physical Therapy as a physical therapy aid and office manager assistant.Â
