Megan Balbo

Megan Balbo will be entering her 3rd season as Assistant coach with the Swimming & Diving Program. Coach Megan serves all aspects of our program from recruiting to practices and planning.

In her 2 seasons, the Pioneers have set over 29 program records, and 4 pool records in the area. She has worked with all the training groups and has been a part of the last 2 recruiting classes here at SHU. Coach Megan has been an interictal role in the organization of practice groups. In the past 2 seasons, we have been able to take our swimmers to the national level such as the CSCAA Open Water Championships in Miami FL and the CSCAA National Invitational Championships in Ocala FL.

Balbo swam distance freestyle for Denison University where she contributed to the team's national recognition. Balbo graduated from Denison University in 2022 with a degree in Health and Exercise Sports Studies and a Minor in Psychology. During her time at Denison, she was also an Athletic Training Room/First Aid Assistant and was a member of the Diversity and Inclusion Group.

Balbo earned Division III NCAA All-American recognition in the 500-yard freestyle in 2020. She also was a member of Denison's NCAC Conference Championship team the same year.

In 2020 and 2021, Balbo served as a journalism intern for the Swimming World Magazine. More recently, Balbo has been on the coaching staff for Bulldog Swimming in New Haven, CT, and working for Prolete Physical Therapy as a physical therapy aid and office manager assistant.
