Sacred Heart University

Bridget Delaney joined the Sacred Heart University athletics staff in September of 2022. She is the primary contact for men’s basketball, men’s lacrosse, field hockey, and women’s rowing. She also oversees the department's social media strategy.

Before arriving at Sacred Heart, Delaney spent four years as Assistant Sports Information Director/Director of Digital Media at the Coast Guard Academy. While there, she assisted in the coverage of multiple specialty events that garnered national attention, such as the season-long football dedication to Station 17 – Pea Island and the inaugural SPARS game featuring the women’s basketball team. She also ran media coverage of the men’s basketball team trip to Alaska for a Salute to Service special on ESPN, along with the coverage of the 2020 conference championship and trip to the NCAA Tournament.

Delaney spent just over a year as an Assistant Director of Athletic Communications at Wellesley College and worked with the Boston Bruins as a marketing assistant before moving to Connecticut. 

A 2017 graduate of Lasell University, Delaney earned a bachelor's degree in sports management with a minor in athletic communications. While at Lasell, she was a member of the women's lacrosse team, where she backstopped the team to a conference championship and was an all-conference player. She also served as the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee president and attended an NCAA Leadership Forum. 

During the summer, Delaney is part of the WNBA’s Connecticut Sun statisticians’ team. She also works for the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame at Mohegan Sun as a member of the stats team.
