Shyne enters their second year as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for Sacred Heart’s rowing program.

Shyne began their rowing career as a walk-on at Ithaca College, where they were named captain senior year. After graduation, Shyne began coaching and teaching at The Derryfield School as the boy’s head coach and Precalculus/Spanish teacher.

Following the pandemic, Shyne transitioned to coaching full-time for Bucknell’s women’s program, where they acted as the Varsity Fours coach through the 21-22 school year, which saw Bucknell’s V4+ earn a bronze medal at the Patriot League Championship.

In their first year at SHU, Shyne coached the Varsity Fours through the spring season, culminating in a silver medal for the V4+ at the 2023 MAAC Championship.

Outside of rowing, Shyne continues to train daily as a powerlifter and spends most nights writing fantasy stories or playing DND. Shyne now lives in Stamford, CT with their partner Bridgette and her many plants.
