Rich Jacobson

Jacobson has been a Pioneer since spring 2009, where he assisted the team in an NEC Champion title his first season.

Coaching Accolades:

  • Helped lead the Pios to two-consecutive NCAA National championships in 2018 and 2019, where the team defeated No. 1 ranked Vanderbilt in round one but finished in fifth/sixth place. 
  • On staff for four Northeast Conference titles in 2009, 2012, 2016 and 2019 and six consecutive NEC Finals.
  • Coached the Pioneers at the three USBC National Championships. First in 2013 in Lincoln, Nebraska, then in 2014 in Reno, Nevada where the Pioneers defeated Webber International en route to finishing in the quarter finals, and lastly in 2019 where the Pios finished 3/4th defeating Wichita State in the quarter finals and losing to eventual champion, Lindenwood.
  • USBC Silver Level Coach and has been honored as one of Bowler's Journal's Top 100 Coaches in the United States for four years.
  • For over 30 years, Jacobson has owned and operated Great Balls of Fire Bowling Pro Shop in New York. 
  • Works for Ebonite International in charge of On-line Technical Support answering questions about ball motion, product design and warranty issues. He has also worked internationally opening new pro shops and representing Ebonite brands in Switzerland, Netherlands and South Africa.
