Stephanie Petery is entering her second year as an Athletic Trainer on the Sacred Heart University Athletic Training Staff. She works directly with the women's wrestling and men's volleyball teams. During her first season as a Pioneer, Petery also worked with both the track & field and men's lacrosse team. She also serves as an Approved Clinical Instructor for the University's graduate athletic training programs.
Petery received her undergraduate degree of Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training from Mercyhurst University in May 2020. During her time at Mercyhurst, she was a four-year athlete on the women's basketball team and treasurer of the Athletic Training Honors Society.Â
Petery went on to receive her Masters of Science in Athletic Training from Ohio University in 2022. While at Ohio, she worked as the Head Athletic Trainer at Nelsonville-York High School, in Nelsonville, Ohio. Her graduate research project will be presented at the International Association for Dance Medicine & Science Conference in October 2023, titled "Injuries Sustained and Healthcare Sought by Dancers Working in the Commercial Dance Industry".Â
