Brenna White comes to Sacred Heart as an Athletic Communications Graduate Assistant starting in August 2023.
Before SHU, White served as a student assistant in the Shippensburg University sports information office and was one of two primary social media directors for Shippensburg Athletics. She coordinated and developed social media strategies for SU’s 20 intercollegiate athletic teams and distributed content across all Raider social media accounts on a variety of platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. Her work resulted in significant growth of SU’s social media platforms and helped expand the department’s digital reach.
White became the primary photographer of Shippensburg Athletics as a junior student worker in the Spring 2022 semester, regularly taking action pictures at basketball, baseball, softball, lacrosse, tennis and track & field. Her work was featured regularly on the SU athletics website, shipraiders.com, in printed publications including the Philadelphia Inquirer, and across SU social media platforms.
Other roles as a student assistant included assistance with live-event production for the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Digital Network, writing post-game recaps, scoreboard operation, in-game statistics and digital asset management including cataloging and archiving.
In the summer of 2022, White completed an internship with the Mansfield Destroyers of the New York Collegiate Baseball League (NYCBL). White was the official team photographer for the Destroyers and completed a variety of other roles for the summer baseball team.
White was also a member of the women’s swimming team at Shippensburg.
A native of Mansfield, Pa., White is an alumna of Shippensburg who graduated with a bachelor’s degrees in communication/journalism (public relations concentration) and political science and is currently seeking her master’s degree in business administration from Sacred Heart.
