Tyler Hammond

Tyler Hammond joined Sacred Heart University as a graduate assistant in 2024 in pursuit of his Masters in Exercise & Sports Science.
 
Tyler was born and raised in the small town of Norfolk, N.Y. After graduating from high school in 2011 he served in the US Navy for two tours of duty, Since then he has pursued a career in strength & conditioning to continue his service to the community around him.
 
Before starting at Sacred Heart University Tyler was the New Haven, Conn., area as a strength & conditioning coach at MBSports Performance in Northford. He also worked with Yale Youth Hockey (12U-14U) and Elite Hockey Academy, which had players signed to the NHL, AHL and USA hockey Juniors. He also helped the North Haven Boys Hockey Team win the 2023 CIAC Division II state championship.
 
Tyler attended SUNY Potsdam where he received his undergraduate degree in Exercise Science with distinction in 2022. He interned as a strength coach in the inaugural year of the strength & conditioning department at his alma mater and helped build the program to serve all NCAA Division III men’s and women’s teams. He received his certification in strength and conditioning (CSCS) shortly after earning his BA in 2022.
 
Tyler currently lives in Guilford with his wife, Carly, and their dog, Diggy.
