Edwards begins his ninth season as an assistant coach – defensive coordinator for the Sacred Heart football team in 2025. He also primarily works with the defensive line. 
 
During his collegiate playing career, Edwards was a four-year letter-winner at Miles College in Fairfield, Ala. A four-year starter on the offensive line, he was inducted into the Miles Hall of Fame in 2010.

He also had stints in the North American Football League for the Central Alabama Renegades, National Indoor Football League as well as the Arena 2 League before joining the coaching ranks. 
 
Edwards graduated from Miles College with a Bachelor’s Degree in social studies education.

  • Produced six All-NEC league selections, one All-America (Kevin Peprah), and one All-New England (Salaam Horne)
  • The Pios’ passing defense led the NEC in back-to-back seasons (2022 and 2021)

  • Served as the defensive line coach
  • Produced nine All-Ivy League selections
  • Coached Daniel DeLorenzi, who concluded his Columbia career as the school’s all-time career sacks record holder
  • Coached and mentored Lord Hyeamang, who signed a professional NFL contract with the Los Angeles Rams

  • Served as the defenisve intern for the defensive line. 
Fordham University

  • Work as the defensive line coach
  • Helped the Gaels finish third in the country in total defense

  • Coached the team’s offensive line before shifting his responsibilities to wide receivers

  • Helped guide the team in the NJAC in scoring offense and passing offense
