Women’s Soccer Outlasts UAlbany for First Win

Shea Kelleher Nets Second Career Multi-Goal Game

Albany, NY. – The Sacred Heart University women's soccer team headed to Albany, New York, on Thursday night and came away with a victory after defeating non-conference opponent UAlbany, 3-2.

How it happened:
The first half saw an offensive clinic between Sacred Heart and UAlbany, with every goal scored coming within the first 45 minutes.

Two of the three goals scored by the Pioneers came unassisted.

Shea Kelleher netted two goals within the first 25 minutes of play, while Emily Hood added a goal in the 40th minute, which proved to be the game-winner.

The second half was a different story, highlighted by five combined saves between SHU and UAlbany.

Casey Mulligan came up big in the 84th minute with a crucial save to hold off the Great Danes and secure the victory.
 
Of Note:
Shea Kelleher notched her second career multi-goal game.

Casey Mulligan had her second career clean sheet between the pipes. 

Lauren Roeder notched her first assist and point of her career.

As a team, the Pioneers had three corners, along with 13 shots, seven of them being on goal.

Sacred Heart travels back home and is back in action on Sunday, August 31st as they host Navy at 12 P.M.
