The Pioneers suffered a 71-47 road loss to Quinnipiac on Thursday evening in Hamden, Conn. SHU held a 12-4 lead over the Bobcats, who are second in the MAAC at 12-2, over the opening 4:26.
Emma Kirby led the way with six of the 12 points on three layups, while an
Amelia Wood trailing 3-pointer capped the early run. Unfortunately for the Pios, Quinnipiac's defense took over for the rest of the game. QU won the final three quarters 55-36 to take the win.
Ny'Ceara Pryor led the way for Sacred Heart with 17 points. SHU also got a spark from Dianne Crespo López, as the first year hit a pair of 3-pointers and a layup off the bench.

With 17 points against the Bobcats, Pryor moved into fifth on SHU's all-time leading scorers list. With 1,637 points, Pryor passed Diane Nicholls (1,632) to move into the top five. In her first season in the MAAC, the junior is averaging a career-high 18.9 points per game, which leads the conference.
SCOUTING SIENA
- The Saints head into Saturday's contest as the third-ranked team in the MAAC at 10-4.
- Siena has won three straight over Marist, Rider and Saint Peter's to move to 13-10 overall this season.
- The Saints' league losses have come at the hands of Quinnipiac (2x), Iona and Mount St. Mary's, with three of them coming on the road.
- Teresa Seppala leads the way for the Saints this season, as she is second in the MAAC in field goal percentage (46.9%) and 3-point field goal percentage (43.0%), and third in scoring (18.0 ppg.).
- Ahniysha Jackson is second on the team with 15.4 points per game.
- Anajah Brown is the Saints' rebounds leader with 7.0 per game.
