LANCASTER, PA. – The Sacred Heart University men's wrestling team opened its Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA) portion of its schedule on Saturday evening with a tough 29-12 road setback to the Diplomats of Franklin and Marshall College.
Franklin & Marshall came out on top with a series of dominant performances, earning a lot of bonus points through pins and major decisions. At the same time, Sacred Heart managed to score in a few individual matches, most notably with Hunter Perez's 8-5 decision victory at 184 pounds.
Along with Perez, Braxton Fries-Appello and Marc Berisha also deserve recognition for their outstanding performances. Fries-Appello secured a victory for the Pioneers at 133 pounds, while Berisha's win at 285 pounds added to the team's score.
