The Pioneers suffered a 75-51 loss to Mount St. Mary's on Saturday afternoon at the Pitt Center. The Mountaineers shot the lights out of the ball on Saturday, going 15-for-29 (51.7%) from 3-point range and 26-for-44 (59.1%) from the field.
Ny'Ceara Pryor paced the Pioneers in scoring for the third straight game, racking up 19 against the Mountaineers.
Emma Kirby was next on the team with nine points and four rebounds in 11 minutes.
CLEANING THE GLASS
The Pioneers have been one of the strongest rebounding teams in the MAAC so far this season, ranking first in the league in offensive rebounds per game (13.6) and second in total rebounds (36.9). Leading the way on the boards is 5-3 guard Pryor with 5.9 boards per game. Kirby is next on the team at 5.5 rebounds per game, while
Amelia Wood averages 5.0.
SCOUTING SIENA
- The Saints are 6-8 overall this season, with a 3-2 mark in the MAAC.
- Siena started the conference slate with wins over Niagara (65-57), Canisius (67-61) and Manhattan (62-60).
- The Saints have since suffered losses to Iona (82-75) and Quinnipiac (69-51).
- Junior guard Teresa Seppala leads the way for the Saints, ranking third in the conference with 18.1 points per game.
- Seppala has been a sharpshooter from behind the arc, leading the MAAC with a 43.3 3-point field goal percentage.
- The Tampere, Finland native averages 2.36 3's per game and also paces the Saints in rebounds (7.1) and steals (2.0) per game.
- Ahniysha Jackson and Anajah Brown also average over 10 points per game at 13.8 and 10.0, respectively.
