Box Score 3 FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Sacred Heart University men's tennis team played its second tournament of the fall season this past weekend at the Fairfield University Hidden Duals competing against Fordham University, Quinnipiac University and Fairfield University.
The Pioneers played excellent doubles, winning five of the nine doubles matches they competed in. SHU fell to Quinnipiac 2-to-1 on Friday before bouncing back on Saturday against Fordham and Sunday versus Fairfield with 2-1 victories.
Freshmen
Connor Liona led the Pios in doubles matches going 2-0.

Enrique Laennec-Baffrey had first doubles victories against Quinnipiac and Fairfield, respectively.
In singles play, junior
Paul Goncalves was 2-0 on the weekend, earning a win over Fairfield University at No. 2 singles as well as No. 3 singles vs. Fordham.

The Pioneers are off this coming weekend but will be back at it the weekend of October 4-6 at the MAAC Masters Tournament hosted by Quinnipiac University as well as the Wesleyan Invitational.
