FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Sacred Heart University men's volleyball team fell to LIU Friday evening, 3-0, at Notre Dame Fairfield High School.

How It Happened:
Sacred Heart earned an early four-point lead with kills from
Patrick Mucherino,
Carlos Santa Cruz and
Dylan McClung. The Sharks responded with a 6-2 run to tie the score at 11. The Pioneers and Sharks battled back and forth through the rest of the set. After being tied at 22, the Sharks pulled away with a 4-2 run to secure a 26-24 win.
The second set saw more early back-and-forth action. The Sharks secured a 9-3 run after being tied at 14. The Sharks took a 25-18 win following a kill from Livan Moreno.
In the third set, the Pioneers could not take the lead after being tied at three, falling to the Sharks 25-21.
Mucherino tallied 12 kills, hitting .292. Santa Cruz was right behind him with 11 kills, while hitting .400. At the setter position,
Teddy Payne secured 32 assists.
