BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The Sacred Heart University men's volleyball team suffered a straight-set loss to LIU on the road Saturday evening.

How It Happened:
The first set saw back-and-forth play until 20
th point when LIU went on a 5-3 run to take a close 25-23 win.
After being tied at 10 in the second, LIU when on a 5-0 run to take the lead. The Pioneers could not overcome the deficit, falling 25-18.
The Sharks took an early nine-point lead in the third. The Pioneers fought back with a pair of kills from
Patrick Mucherino and one from
Jack Chow. SHU went on a late 5-0 run at set point for the Sharks to bring the game to 24-21 with kills from Mucherino, blocks from Ryan Bencscoter, Chow and Mucherino. Unfortunately for SHU, the Sharks stopped the comeback, taking the set 25-21.
Mucherino led the Pioneer offense with 15 kills hitting .278.
Dylan McClung was behind him with six kills. Setter
Teddy Payne secured 18 assists.
