MADEIRA BEACH, Fla. – The Sacred Heart University softball team ended the Spring Games tournament in Madeira Beach, Fla., on Sunday with a hard-fought 3-2 setback against Colgate.

Of Note:
The Raiders took the lead first in today's game, taking a 1-0 advantage in the top of the first inning.
The pitchers settled in from there, as Colgate's run in the second was the lone run of the first four frames.
Emily Heath allowed one run over the first, third and fourth frames.
Both teams scored in the fifth, as the Raiders tallied two runs and SHU came across once. With the bases loaded and one out,
Sam Kowalski sent a single through the left side to plate
Jenna Mowad. Unfortunately for the Pios, a very close double-play in the next at-bat ended the inning.
Sacred Heart continued to rally in the sixth, bringing another run across to cut the score to 3-2.
Victoria LoPinto sparked the run with a walk before stealing second and advancing to third on the throw.
Nicole Henke then singled to bring LoPinto in.
SHU's rally came up short in the seventh, and they suffered a 3-2 setback to end the Spring Games.

The Pioneers are home at Pioneer Park on Saturday, March 16, to take on Wagner at 1 p.m. The second game of the doubleheader is scheduled to start at 3 p.m.
