Box Score TRUMBULL, Conn. – The Sacred Heart University men's tennis picked up a thrilling 4-3 home win over upcoming MAAC foe Siena on Saturday at the Tennis Club of Trumbull.

The Pioneers claimed the doubles point by winning at the No. 1 and 3 slots. Lefteri Apostolou and Enrique Laennec-Baffrey cruised to a 6-1 win at the top spot. After falling at No. 2, SHU bounced back with an exciting 7-6 (5) win from Charlie Levinson and Antoine Hernandez at No. 3. 

Apostolou earned his second win of the day at No. 1 singles, defeating Zino Varouhas-Poole in a nail-bitter, 6-2, 5-7, 6-2. Laennec was another double winner, taking No. 4 singles with a 7-5, 2-6, 6-3 victory over Duarte Melo. SHU's victory was clinched at No. 6 singles when Paul Goncalves fought to a 6-3, 6-5, ret. win over Elijah Zifferblatt.
