NORTH EASTON, Mass. – The Sacred Heart University women's basketball team started tonight's game against Stonehill on a 17-2 run and never looked back in an 80-53 road victory in North Easton, Mass.
The Pioneers employed a balanced approach on offense this evening, as 10 SHU players scored points.
Ny'Ceara Pryor led the way with 16 points, five rebounds, three assists and four steals.
Amelia Wood was next on the team with 15 points, while
Sajada Bonner crossed double figures with 11 on 3-for-5 shooting from behind the arc.
Olivia Tucker and
Nalyce Dudley each finished with nine points.

How It Happened:
The Pioneers hit the ground running in the first half, opening the game on a 13-2 run to force a Stonehill timeout. Pryor scored six points in the surge, ending it with a steal and a layup before the TO. Layups by both Wood sisters followed the timeout as SHU was ahead by 15, 17-2, by the 5:06 mark.
Sacred Heart led by as much as 18, 26-8, in the first, following triples from Bonner, Tucker and A. Wood before going into the second up 28-12.
SHU opened the second quarter on a 9-4 run to take its first 20-point lead, 37-16. Bonner hit her first two shots of the frame, one being a triple.
The Pios continued to ramp up the defensive pressure in the second, holding the Skyhawks to just 11 points on their way to building a 43-23 halftime advantage.
Faith Pappas joined Bonner with a team-high five in the quarter.
With a 20-point lead heading into the third, SHU never let Stonehill get back into the game, winning the third and fourth quarters by a 37-30 margin. The Pioneers held the Skyhawks to just 10 points in the fourth on their way to clinching an 80-53 win.
The Pioneers' defense held Stonehill to 1-for-12 shooting from behind the arc and forced 29 Skyhawks' turnovers, the second-most by a SHU opponent this season.
