FAIRFIELD, Conn.— Following its first Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) victory on Friday evening, the Sacred Heart University men's basketball team continues conference play on Sunday on the road at Quinnipiac.  The Pioneers have won three straight games heading into Sunday's matchup.

Opening Tip:

• Sacred Heart and Quinnipiac meet for the 65th time in series history but the first time since 2019. The series dates back to the 1965-66 season, with both teams in DII.
• The Pioneers are coming off their third consecutive victory, defeating Iona 83-59 to open conference play on Friday evening. Anquan Hill scored 18 points, leading four players in double figures: Bryce Johnson (14), Amiri Stewart (13), and Nyle Ralph-Beyer (11). Sacred Heart shot 49% (28-for-57) from the field. 
• Three Pioneers are averaging double figures: Hill (13.4), Stewart (12.6), and Tanner Thomas (12.2). 
• Bryce Johnson leads the team in rebounds with 5.9 per game, followed by Raymond Espinal-Guzman (4.2) and Hill (3.8). 
• Mekhi Conner is the team leader in assists (4.2), and Stewart leads the team in steals (2.1)
• Sacred Heart returns three active members from last year's team: Thomas, who made nine appearances before missing the remainder of the season with an injury. Raymond Espinal-Guzman, a redshirt junior forward who appeared in 24 games last season, and Aidan Carpenter, a redshirt junior guard who made 30 appearances with 16 starts. 
• Thomas was named to the All-MAAC preseason third team. 
• Johnson returns to Sacred Heart after a year at Northeastern.
• This year is Sacred Heart's first season as a full-time member of the MAAC.
• The Pioneers have 10 new players on the team. 
• Head Coach Anthony Latina is in his 12th season as head coach and 20th year overall with the Pioneers.

• Sacred Heart opened MAAC play with its 83-59 win over Iona at home in the Pitt Center. SHU has won its last three games, including a pair at home.
• Hill scored 18 points to lead the Pioneers. Johnson (14), Stewart (13), and Ralph-Beyer (11) all scored in double figures against the Gaels.
• Sacred Heart shot a season-best 49.1% (28-for-57) from the field for a season-high 83 points.
• The Pios had an impressive first half, shooting 62% (18-for-29) from the field, highlighted by 12 points from Hill.
