BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Sacred Heart University men's soccer team defeated Canisius College on the road Saturday afternoon, 2-1.

Matthias Dick secured goals for the Pios.

Brady Poor answered for the Pioneers heading in
Aidan Borra's deflected shot in the 20
th minute.
Keeping SHU on its toes, Canisius drew a foul in the box resulting in a penalty kick but Hammersley was there to make the stop for the Pioneers laying out on the ground.
Shortly after in the 73
rd minute,
Alejo Woelper drew a foul in the top of the box resulting in a penalty kick, this time for the Pios. Junior
Matthias Dick took the penalty and placed the ball nicely in the top left corner of the net to put the SHU on top.
After coming of a slower start in the first half, the Pioneers dominated with 18-to-10 shots with an even 7-to-7 shots on goal.
Hammersley had a fantastic day securing a season high of six saves between the pipes for the Pios.
